Working with Vollmer Engineering and The NYC Department of Transportation, KAPC was engaged to act as the restoration architects to address the damage done due to the undermining and substantial collapse of an entire historic block in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn. Neighboring BAM, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, as well as the towering office structure of the Williamsburg Savings Bank, the structural remediation of the subsurface foundations and infrastructure was invasive and intense. Having 30 some odd homeowners whose homes were badly compromised was no doubt a career challenge. Repair of these historic homes involved the partial or entire replace of facades; stucco work; cornices; wrought and cast iron fencing; as well balustrade stoops.
